This means that pension benefits due to a former spouse, are now payable shortly after the date of divorce and not only at the time when the fund membership of the spouse who is a member of the fund is terminated and the member leaves the GEPF. GEPF change rules regarding pension debt on divorce: Following the gazetting of the Government Employees Pension Law Amendment Bill on 23rd May 2019, the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) has amended and implemented the new rules and will no longer subject a member to a debt model in executing a divorce settlement.
